David Short

Straight after school I joined the RAF where I served in Cyprus in 1963/4.  After the RAF I worked in a variety of different roles before moving to India where I started up a small digital resource and computer business and travelled around south-east Asia for the next six years. I have a daughter who is a legal representative, and a son who was a police inspector and still works for the Police in a different capacity. I have six grandchildren aged from 17 to 35 and a 6 year old great-grandson. They all live in South Wales. I have been married to Cally for over 20 years. In October 2012, we moved to Coven Heath where I serve on Coven Heath Community Association. I am a village volunteer which can include litter picking, delivering Newsletters and organising sound systems for village events. I have been a driver for Brewood Voluntary Car Scheme since July 2014. Every Monday evening I play walking football at Codsall Leisure Centre and recently our team won their first ever tournament, a charity event for Diabetes UK and Compton Care. I see the role of Parish Councillor as reporting on, and, if possible, dealing with local issues which impact on our small community.
